Objective: To investigate the expression of COX-2 and VEGF-C protein in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its relationship with pathological features. Methods: The expressions of COX-2 and VEGF-C in 58 NSCLC patients were detected by immunohistochemistry (SP). Among them, 34 cases of surgical specimens, bronchoscopy specimens 24 cases. Results: The expression of COX-2 and VEGF-C were all higher in NSCLC tissues of 58 patients. The positive rates of COX-2 and VEGF-C were 70.6% and 53.4% respectively. The expression of COX-2 and VEGF-C had no correlation with gender, stage and pathological type (all P> 0.05), while VEGF-C had positive correlation with lymph node metastasis (P <0.05). There was no correlation between the expression of COX-2 and VEGF-C (P> 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: COX-2 and VEGF-C are highly expressed in NSCLC tissues. The expression of VEGF-C is correlated with lymph node metastasis, which may serve as an important indicator of invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.
