Objective To investigate the relationship between transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and intracranial-external feeding arteries by digital subtraction angiography (DSA) to explore the etiology of TIA. Methods 56 cases of TIA patients underwent DSA whole cerebral angiography, intracranial and extracranial artery to see whether the stenosis, stenosis and vascular malformations. Results Of the 56 TIA patients, 10 (17.86%) had negative angiography and 46 (82.14%) had varying degrees of responsible vascular disease, of which 40 (71.42%) had intracranial and extracranial arterial stenosis and 2 (3.57%) had arteriovenous malformation 3 aneurysms (5.36%) and 1 moyamoya disease (1.79%). Twenty-three patients (41.07%) had more than two vascular stenoses. Conclusion Intracranial-external feeding artery stenosis is a common cause of TIA. Arteriovenous malformation, aneurysm and moyamoya disease are rare causes of TIA. DSA has important clinical value in the pathogenesis of TIA.
