Single row radial ball bearings are the most widely used type of rolling bearing, which is mainly used to bear radial load, but also can withstand smaller axial load. It can be used to withstand pure axial load at high speeds and should not be used with thrust ball bearings. In order to increase the rigidity of the bearing, the bearing is often preloaded (pre-interference). However, the method of pretensioning a single row radial ball bearing with a disc spring has not yet been known.
