In order to observe the effects of diabetes and hypertension on cerebral hemodynamics, we used transcranial Doppler to measure the blood flow velocity in the cerebral arteries of diabetic, hypertensive and diabetic + hypertensive patients. The results showed that the rate of abnormal blood flow was 41.7% in the diabetic group (n = 48), 30% in the hypertensive group (n = 160), and that in the diabetic + hypertensive group (n = 35) Rate was as high as 82.9%, significantly higher than the first two groups (P <0.05). The blood flow abnormalities of MCA were the most prominent among all groups, followed by ACA, CS, BA, VA and PCA, while the patients with diabetes and hypertension also had more severe CS. It is thought that the damage of cerebrovascular in hypertension increases with the progression of the disease. The damage of cerebrovascular in diabetes is more common in patients with hypertension, and once both of these two diseases exist, the effect of vascular damage will be doubled
