Maldives, the island nation which has been hailed as “the last paradise on earth” by the world will not exist by the end of this century. This is not sensational, and the culprit that will lead to this unfortunate incident is greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide, a gas that has a bearing on human life, has played a key role in the historical process of mankind. Carbon dioxide allows plants to carry photosynthesis and provide oxygen for the animals. In the meantime, in ancient times, greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide increased the global temperature and enabled human beings to survive in a temperature-friendly environment. As global temperatures continue to rise, carbon dioxide has become a threat to human development. Humans have come to realize the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. A “low-carbon economy” campaign aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions has emerged in various countries in the world.
