2001年 11月 23——25日,全国铁 路运输安全工作会议在上海召开,这是适应铁路行业快速发展需要,铁路部门强化运输安全工作,转变作风,深化“规范管理、强基达标”的一项重要举措。这次会议的主要任务是,认真贯彻“三个代表”的重要思想、党的十五届六中全会《决定》、江总书记对铁路工作的重要题词精神,深入落实党中央、国务院对安全生产的重要指示,总结2001年铁路运输安全工作,分析安全生产面临的形势,部署2002年运输安全工作。 铁道部党组书记、部长傅志寰在会上发表了重要讲话,部党组成员、副部长刘志军作了工作报告。部党组成员、铁路总工会主席黄四川,部党组成员、办公厅主任彭开宙,部总调度长常国治,总经济师王奎中,政治部副主任任喜贵出席了会议。与会的各铁路局（集团公司）还交流了成功经验。
