Objective To investigate the clinical significance of detecting serum uric acid and lipoprotein levels in type 2 diabetic patients with cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 120 type Ⅱ diabetic patients with cerebral infarction who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2011 to January 2013 were randomly divided into observation group (65 cases) and control group (55 cases) according to the level of HbA1c, Differences in serum lipids and uric acid levels. Results The level of serum uric acid and the level of serum lipids (cholesterol, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the normal control group, while the levels of serum high density lipoprotein in the observation group were lower than those in the normal group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The levels of serum lipids and serum uric acid are closely related to the pathogenesis of type II diabetes mellitus complicated with cerebral infarction. It is of great clinical significance to monitor the levels of both.
