无腺体棉生产是开发利用棉籽蛋白的最有效方法。笔者通过育种实践认为:(1)从已育成的无腺体品种(系)说明,其产量和纤维品质可达到有腺体棉的水平;(2)在杂交方式中,如果无腺体亲本农艺性状和适应性差,应采用复合杂交。利用无腺体棉品种(系)间杂交,有利于集中进行农艺性状的选择;(3)从无腺体性状的感虫和棉籽食用应少施农药考虑,无腺体棉应选育抗虫品种,无花外蜜腺是比较理想的抗虫性状;(4)无腺体棉品种的无腺体性状,其基因型应是gl_2gl_2gl_3gl_3,该性状的纯度亦应作为评价品种的重要依据。
Gland-free cotton production is the most efficient way to exploit cottonseed protein.
