South study is an ad hoc secretary of the Qing government in the early Qing Dynasty, and its position in the Kangxi dynasty is particularly special, has a certain political and cultural functions. As an informal inner court institution, from the beginning of its establishment, South Bookstore selected the value of the Imperial Academy and then went through the process of actual operation, demonstrating the personal characteristics of the privately owned Emperor. It is for this reason that Emperor Kangxi valued the South Bookstore Hanlin very much, giving it a non-ordinary favor and preferential treatment, thereby deepening the private nature of the institution. The private nature of Kangxi’s study in the south also partly revealed the political environment, political needs and employment patterns in the early Qing Dynasty. At the same time, it further indicated that the southern study was still essentially serving the imperial power and maintaining the rule of the Qing Dynasty.
