Think / No-think (TNT) is an experimental paradigm based on the go / no-go paradigm to study the process of motivational forgetting. The main process is that an individual’s inhibition of memory extraction can lead to subsequent memory Forgotten. In recent years, a large number of behavioral studies in the TNT paradigm have consistently found that memory abstraction can produce negative control effects, demonstrating the feasibility of studying motivational amnesia under laboratory conditions. Among them, the negative control effect refers to the repressed conditions of the project relative to the baseline conditions of the memory significantly reduced. Discussion on the neural mechanism of motivational amnesia has accumulated a great deal of research evidence to summarize the studies on the two modalities of EEG and f MRI. We proposed the multimodality of motivational amnesia Functional network model. Finally, based on this model, we look forward to the future research direction of the TNT paradigm. In particular, we note that the application of synchronous EEG-f MRI technology is expected to reveal the dynamic process of motivational forgetting caused by memory abstraction.
