采用酒石酸铁比色法对复叶槭雌、雄株叶片中水溶性酚类物质的含量进行了一个生长周期的跟踪测定,对不同性别、不同年龄、不同光照条件下的复叶槭植株叶片中水溶性酚类物质的含量做了比较分析,同时研究了叶片中叶绿素的含量与水溶性酚类物质含量之间的关系。结果表明在样株的年龄、样株以及样叶所处的光照条件相同的条件下复叶槭植株叶片中水溶性酚类物质的含量与植株的性别密切相关;叶片中水溶性酚类物质含量与叶绿素的含量之间也存在显著相关,这二类物质的含量均可望作为该树种幼苗性别鉴定的生理指标。
