Genetically engineered hepatitis B vaccines produced using yeast have been successfully used in animal experiments. The steps of yeast synthesis of HBsAg particles are as follows: (1) modification of the HBsAg coding region to remove un-translated 5’- untranslated sequences; (2) isolation and use of several new yeast promoters to efficiently prime yeast
