Current engine monitoring devices monitor engine temperature, pressure, vibration and airflow conditions, but none are suitable for real-time detection of fan blades during flight. Since fan blades are susceptible to foreign object damage (FOD), which can not be easily detected by visual inspection, monitoring fan blades is critical. Monitoring changes in the air every minute, you can record the smallest leaf damage, in order to take measures as soon as possible. Although researchers have long recognized the hazards of foreign objects on engine blade damage, it has taken a long time to develop such a monitoring system.
