Historically, cement concrete pavement in Quebec, Canada has been the application is not very satisfactory. The main reasons are as follows: The cement concrete pavement structure does not adapt to the local climatic conditions, lack of design and construction experience, increasing traffic volume and axle load, and the decreasing funds for maintenance. Since the 1990s, Quebec traffic management has been committed to the revision of pavement design specifications. For the past 10 years, seamed concrete pavements have been accepted as standard structures. With the traffic department and related practitioners increased their concern, making the cement concrete pavement in Quebec gradually wide range of applications. In order to further optimize the cement concrete pavement, improve pavement maintenance and repair work, Quebec gradually adopted a new type of pavement structure --- continuous reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP). Since 2000, with the full support of the traffic department in Quebec, paving two continuous reinforced concrete pavement test road. This article will introduce the advantages and construction techniques of continuous reinforced concrete pavement from two aspects of design and construction.
