In this paper, the relationship between total heart rate (THB), minimum heart rate, intraday variation and prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) n = 20 in 24 hours was observed and analyzed. The results showed that: ①The THB and the lowest heart rate in DM group were higher than those in control group (P <0.05 and 0.01, respectively). (2) The difference between the number of heartbeats at 4 hours during daytime and the number of 4 hours at rest during nighttime was taken as the index of changes within several days of heartbeat, and the difference was significantly lower than that of group below 8 years (DM <9 years). Because the lowest night-time heart rate reflects vagal activity, an increase in night-time minimum heart rate suggests vagal dysfunction. If the longer duration of diabetes patients, the lower the minimum heart rate at night, and the more weakened intraday changes in the number of beats, it should be considered due to autonomic dysfunction.
