圩墩遗址是太湖流域西北部地区发现年代最早、文化内涵最丰富、文化特点最鲜明的马家浜文化史前遗址之一。自1972年首次试掘,圩墩遗址前后共经历了五次大规模的发掘,出土了一批具有鲜明地域特色的文化遗物,对马家浜文化研究的确立和深入研究提供了重要依据。作为太湖西北岸的典型边缘性遗址,圩墩遗址与这一地区一批新材料的发掘,为研究太湖流域文化变迁提供了新的思索。
Mud pier site is the earliest discovered in the northwestern region of Taihu Lake Basin, the most abundant cultural connotation, the most distinctive cultural features Majiabang cultural prehistoric sites. Since the excavation for the first time in 1972, a total of five large-scale excavated sites have been excavated and unearthed a number of cultural relics with distinctive regional characteristics. This provides an important basis for the establishment and further study of the Majiabang cultural studies. As a typical marginal site on the northwestern bank of Taihu Lake, the excavation site and the new batch of new materials in the area provide a new consideration for the cultural changes in the Taihu Lake Basin.
