Larvae were inoculated with the lethal dose of the molting inhibitor Dimilin. The larvae did not show any changes in the midgut and midgut of the larvae. Micro-section observation, the inner epidermis tissue injury, not completely attached to the epidermis, loose separation. At the same time, further quantitative analysis of the body wall showed that the amount of chitin deposition in the inner epidermis was reduced by about 12%; on the other hand, the protein content was not affected. This revealed that diflubenzuron I had a special mode of action on the pine caterpillars - obstructing the deposition of chitin, lacking the hardness of the newly formed epidermis, and eventually losing the skin during molting, eventually leading to death. From this it was demonstrated that the diflubenzuron differed in properties from the conventional insecticide, causing the pine caterpillars to die during molting, such as lower doses, which could retard growth or deformity.
