Emphasizing the social function of history education is a feature of Chinese traditional culture. The classics, history, sons, and collections of traditional cultural classics are equally important. The Confucianism advocacy of Qi Shi, Zhi Zhi, and Ping Tianxia are all examples of history. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, history teaching in secondary schools has attached great importance to its unique functions, namely, ideological education for students, especially for students’ love education, aesthetic education, and historical materialism.
