传统的书画,在今天是被置于艺术或美术的领域中来认识的。艺术是一个大的范畴,相当于一级学科,下辖美术、音乐、舞蹈、戏曲等二级学科;美术中,又分为绘画、雕塑、建筑、工艺设计等三级学科,轮到国画,则成了与油画、版画、水彩、连环画等并列的“四级学科”。而“艺术”也好,“美术”也好,它们都不是一个“国学”的概念,而是中西杂糅的一个概念。而中国画,包括书法,在这些概念的层层统辖下,离开了“国学”的概念,要想真正认识传统、弘扬传统,难度、阻力非常大。
