As early as 400 BC, the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates suggested that doctors must know how to massage. Dancers and European athletes have been using massage as part of their training. In the United States, however, athletes discovered a few years ago that massage can keep their body in the best condition and achieve the best level of play. Since then, massage will be popular, not only super-body stars rely on massage, actors and busy managers also use massage to eliminate the pressure of fatigue and competition. Some people think that a full-body massage is equivalent to walking three miles in the countryside or outskirts, but it does not feel tired. They found that massage not only treats sports injuries but also eliminates stress at work. The United States Olympic Committee took an unprecedented step during the recent Olympic Games in Los Angeles to provide massages to all its national athletes. But the director of Cornell Rehabilitation Medical Center believes that massage is not a panacea, but an effective adjuvant treatment.
