武术套路、散手运动与擒敌格斗,是三者具有相互关联、渗透,在属性和技法上各有侧重和特点的运动形式.武术表演套路是中国武术中独有的一种形式.它植根于中国传统文化的土壤之中,在历史长河中发展成为一项流派众多、花样纷呈、博大精深,并具有东方哲学思想和美学内涵的运动形式,为广大人民群众喜爱和接受.在中国诞生后几十年来,经过几代人的发掘、整理、使武术套路成为具有一定运动形式、规则的体育运动和竞技项目.在世界各民族历史发展的长河中,在阶级斗争和生存竞争的较量中,形成和丰富了具有不同文化特点的技击术,如拳击、空手道、泰拳、跆拳等,唯独中国的技击术演化出了套路.值得注意的是,这种文化现象同时也证明,格斗和套路之间没有必然的联系.中国武术套路形式的出现不是技击术发展的普遍现象,套路的产生发展也不是技击术自身发展的需要和自身的完善,而是中华民族在特定背景下,形成和发展起来的具有特殊形式的民族体育文化现象.
