Herpessimplex virus type 2 (HSV 2) is one of the causes of various diseases such as vulvar herpes and cervical cancer. Acyclovir (ACV) treatment of HSV 2 infection is easy to produce drug resistant strains; cidofovir has a large nephrotoxicity; HSV vaccine is not effective. Therefore, it is very important to develop new antiviral drugs.
