The constitution is at the heart of the identity of the United States and is often referred to as constitutional patriotism. However, the constitution of the United States is rooted in the Jewish-Christian electoral tradition of the Covenant. It is a fusion of the covenant theology and the social contract theory of Puritanism. The essence of the U.S. exception theory lies here. Therefore, unlike the national identity of the nationalist nation, the identity of the United States is a constitutional-based national identity of voters. Due to the misunderstanding of secularization and the separation of church and state, the issue of the identity of the elect nationalities has long been the neglected blind spot in the nationalist theory. This paper attempts to clarify these misunderstandings and blind spots through the analysis of the relationship between the US constitution and identity identification Clearly understand the true face of American national identity and constitutional patriotism.
