The continuous depreciation of the U.S. dollar is one of the most interesting events in the global economy since the 21st century. From the end of 2001 to March 2008, the U.S. dollar index plummeted from 116 to 72, accounting for more than 38% of the devaluation in more than six years. As one of the most important currencies in the world, the dramatic dollar one-way devaluation has undoubtedly had a profound and long-term impact on the global economic and financial system and also posed a significant uncertainty risk to the world economy. The devaluation of the dollar is opening the global economy’s “Pandora” box.
