Barqueta bridge theoretical and experimental work. The Barqueta Bridge, which stretches across the Guadalquivir River, connects Seville city with the Cartuja93 Technology Park. During rush hour traffic flows take a half-lane over an hour. The dynamic response of the bridge was observed by prototype test. The test procedure included two dynamic studies of live loads: one with a half-lane full of vehicles and the other with no vehicles on the bridge. Based on the data obtained, the model parameters were estimated. Ten different models with frequencies ranging from 0 to 6 Hz were identified by different techniques, of which the two models are very similar. The interaction between traffic and structure has also been studied. The results obtained from the three-dimensional finite element model are compared with the experimental results and the results are highly consistent. Finally, damage assessment techniques are used to identify the structural integrity. The results obtained from the July 2005 trial were correlated with the results obtained in October 2006 using the injury index method.
