A variety of experimental techniques were used to study magnetic metal films such as Mn, Co and FeMn epitaxially grown on GaAs (0 0 1) surface.The results show that the crystal structure and magnetic properties of the epitaxial growth magnetic film are obviously compared with the bulk material In some cases, the interfacial structure between the epitaxial film and the substrate plays a decisive role in the crystal structure and magnetic properties of the magnetic film
