At the beginning of 1938, a group of patriotic intellectuals who persevered in Shanghai secretly established a translation and publication agency, Fushe, under the special circumstances of isolated islands. Concerning the history of compound society, because of its secret nature, all the deeds come from the memories of the parties after the liberation. However, due to the age-old situation, the opinions of some parties are also slightly different. Their composition, specific publishing activities, sources of funds, etc. , Has long been unknown. The Shanghai Archives preserved two original files of the Fusi community, one for the Fushe community and the other for the first annual meeting of Fushe (April 1, 1939), providing us with relevant activities for understanding Fusai First-hand information. In addition, Zheng Zhenduo wrote “Hutchison Club” is also an important reference for the compound.
