In the spring of 1949, one million Chinese armymen of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army crossed the Yangtze River with tremendous heights and descended the sea. The end of the eastern line was the town of Bawei in Jingjiang City. At that time, the people of Jingjiang fully supported the donations of grazing grass, building bridges, raising ships, compiling victory prizes with life and blood and swearing, and won the reputation of being the “First Ship of the Yangtze River” recorded in the annals of history.
