(一)1998年11月11日,我收到季羡林先生的一篇散文新作,还有一封信。文章题为《两行写在泥土地上的字》,是复印件。信是亲笔,全文如下:小蕙:你好!我现在难得写什么抒情的散文,写了几篇,也被别人抢走。这好像是怠慢了“文荟”,实则我一时一刻也没有忘记“文荟”,我的《赋得永久的悔》等等拙作都是首先发表在“文荟”上的。现在又写了一篇《两行写在泥土地上的字》,自己还难判断写得是好是坏。现寄上,请法眼加以鉴定。祝撰安!
(I) On November 11, 1998, I received a new essay by Mr. Ji Xianlin and a letter. The article entitled “Two lines written in the soil of the word” is a copy. The letter is an autograph, the full text is as follows: Xiaohui: Hello! I am now rare to write any lyric prose, wrote a few articles, but also was taken away by others.
