On February 19, 1997, Comrade Deng Xiaoping, the great man of his generation, died in the world and caused infinite grief in our hearts. We are distraught for the loss of a distinguished leader and we are extremely sorry for a man who has lost space. At this moment, we can not help but recall Comrade Xiaoping’s concern for the past of our space business. As early as 1958, when China launched an upsurge in the first wave of satellites, it was Comrade Deng Xiaoping who promptly corrected the bias of rushing to launch satellites when the basic conditions were not met. He pointed out that the satellites currently deployed (launched) are not commensurate with national power and they need to be adjusted.
