桂林南宋摩崖书法因其数量之多、质量之精以及特殊的地域环境、时代背景表现出内蕴深厚、体势多变的书法风格。大多学者从政治、历史、旅游等角度对桂林摩崖的内容作研究,而从书法艺术角度的专题性研究较少。笔者将从桂林南宋书法形成的背景、书法特点与价值方面简析其书法艺术价值与历史文化意蕴。桂林南宋摩崖的历史背景及书体特点文人是代表社会文化的精英,以自己的艺术主张和创作实践,与社会发生着密切联系。“南宋时代从帝王到文上,均保持着极高的书法热情。这种书法热情是当时社会文化热情的集中表征之一。”[1]所以我们必须站在文化哲学的高度,了解文人的时代背景与价值追求,才有可能深刻理解摩崖书法的内涵。桂林南宋摩崖书法形成的主要因素有:①时代背景:大 Cliff Calligraphy of Southern Song Dynasty in Guilin is characterized by its large quantity, fine quality and special geographical environment.
