从1986年夏开始,美国国防部执行MINIC(微波/微米波单片集成电路)计划。 该项计划与美国国防部的VHSIC(甚高速集成电路)计划齐头并进。
Since the summer of 1986, the US Department of Defense has implemented the MINIC (microwave/microwave-wave monolithic integrated circuits) program. The goal of the project is to improve the performance and reliability of microwave subsystems such as radars, and to reduce their prices. It is intended to develop frequencies above 2 GHz centered on GaA analog integrated circuits. The plan goes hand in hand with the U.S. Department of Defense’s VHSIC (very high-speed IC) program. The Pentagon is considering investing a total of $135 million in MINIC’s plan for the first five years, which is about half of the initial investment required by VHSIC.
