本文论述了开发基于GIS技术的油气勘探数据库应用与管理系统的必要性，介绍了GIS的基本特点以及适合我国GIS系统开发的软件工程方法──原型法。研究了EDUMIS实现的软硬件环境、系统组成、图形库及数据库，指出了今后的发展方向。
This paper discusses the necessity of developing the application and management system of oil and gas exploration database based on GIS technology, introduces the basic characteristics of GIS and the software engineering method suitable for the development of GIS in our country ─ ─ prototype method. The hardware and software environment, system components, graphics library and database of EDUMIS are studied, and the future development direction is pointed out.
