陈垣是我国史学大师,著作等身,享誉中外。他自幼受中国传统文化影响,在书法、诗词方面均有很深的造诣。其孙陈智超对祖父陈垣与书法艺术的关系总结为:“援庵先生的书法同他的学术一样,没有师承,全靠自学。经过长期的实践、揣摩、体会,他总结出一套有鲜明特色的、以务实求美为核心的书法理论。他也是书法的热心提倡者。”一九二七年五月至一九六六年六月间,陈垣与其三子陈约书信往来二百余封,陈垣的书法理论在对陈约的“远程培养”上,得到了充分的实践。这种理论与实践的结合,乃是学界的一段佳话。本文辑录了陈垣与陈约父子往来信件中关于书法的研习方法、心得体会一百二十七条,从中可见起初的信件,多为陈垣传授自己的学书理论,后来则变成父子二人研习书法体会的互相交流。这些方法完全出自两位书法家的亲身体验,故值得深入探析,以贻后学。特此刊发,以飨读者。
Chen Yuan is a master of history in China, his works, and is famous both at home and abroad. He was influenced by Chinese traditional culture since childhood and has profound accomplishments in calligraphy and poetry. Chen Zhichao, his grandchildren, summed up the relationship between his grandfather Chen Yuan and the art of calligraphy as follows: “The calligraphy of Mr. Yuan is the same as that of his academic work, and there is no teacher to learn by himself, but after a long period of practice, Distinctive and calligraphic theory with pragmatic beauty as the core, he is also an ardent advocate of calligraphy. ”Between May 1967 and June 1966, Chen Yuan wrote a letter to his co-author Chen Jiao Two hundred letters, Chen Yuan’s calligraphy theory in Chen Yue’s “long-distance training”, has been fully implemented. This combination of theory and practice is a story of the academic community. This article records the communication between Chen Yuan and Chen Yue’s father and son about the calligraphy study method, experience experience one hundred and twenty-seven, from which we can see the initial letters, mostly for Chen Yuan to teach his theory of school study, and later into a father and son People learn calligraphy experience of mutual exchange.
