The Soviet Union’s coal industry is an industrial sector that consumes large amounts of fuel and heat. It has made a great contribution in saving energy. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, some business sectors saved 315 kilotons of standard coal and 7,710,000 joules of thermal energy and a 4-8% reduction in fuel consumption for the production of various major products. During the 11th Five-Year Plan, the coal industry will make further efforts to save energy. In May 1980, the All-Su Institute of Science in the Rostov mine area was designed to solve the fuel and heat conservation problems of the coal industry enterprises. This workshop has extensive discussions on a range of issues including the burning of coal in boiling-bed combustion chambers, the utilization of downhole biogas, the conversion of ДКВР-type boilers to hot-water supply, the pulverized coal in industrial boilers, and some coal production joint The company uses advanced methods of saving fuel and heat.
