本文根据英语专业泛读教学大纲“泛”与“读”两方面要求,改变过去过于注重教材知识点传授和做题训练的教学传统,列出课外人文经典书目,让学生依个体阅读需求和兴趣自选阅读、撰写阅读日志或读书报告,定期交流,指导、了解进度,讲评,做课堂展示。对英语专业泛读教学一系列改革措施的考察结果显示:1.部分学生读书形成了习惯,学会了吸纳、享用书籍凝聚的丰富精神营养和财富,若不读就感到欠缺或不安;2.多数学生在英语语感、文本鉴赏力和涉及西方英语国家多元共存的知识上获得了同步提高;3.学生们的词汇量、阅读速度、阅读技巧、阅读理解、书面表达普遍有进步,提高了教学质量。
