To study the effects of smoking during pregnancy on mothers and children, the authors conducted a prospective study. The authors collected data on all pregnant women who came to the antenatal clinic during the 16th week of 1978/79 and did not include high-risk pregnancies referred to the second trimester and late pregnancy, multiple pregnancies, patients of gestational age 196 days prior to delivery and incomplete information patient.
