根据临床观察,高血压患者大多数在早上起床后1~3个小时,是血压最高峰;午后3~4点钟开始下降;晚上6~7点钟又回升;入睡1~2个小时后,不仅心跳、呼吸趋于缓慢,血压也会降至最低点。 由于药物作用,通常在服药后1~2个小时达到最高峰,所以睡前服用降血压药,药物发挥作用的时候正好是血压最低的时候,血压下降若幅度过大,则容易发生意外。 血压太低,夜间起床,会出现“起立性低血压”而跌倒或昏倒。此外,血压太低,血流也会缓慢,易使血液凝结,发生血管栓塞,并发中风(缺血性)或心肌梗塞。
