对17世纪末莱布尼茨创立的二进制算法,国人多有误传误信,其中最典型的一种错误观念即是说二进制来源于中国古代的《周易》。然而尽管《周易》的确体现出二元对立的宇宙观,但这种观念并非《易》所独有,古希腊的毕达哥拉斯学派亦有相似理论体系。中西古典数学思想有其相同之处,但其发展历程与方向截然不同。而西方文艺复兴后科学理论的急速兴起和中国古典文明辉煌后的现代科学理论缺失之对比,恰恰与民族特性所决定的文化选择有直接关系。
In the late 17th century, Leibniz created a binary algorithm, many misrepresentations were mistaken, the most typical of which is a misconception that the binary system originated from the ancient Chinese Book of Changes. However, although the Book of Changes did manifest the concept of binary opposition to the cosmology, this concept is not unique to Yi and the Pythagorean school of ancient Greece also has a similar theoretical system. Chinese and Western classical mathematical ideas have their similarities, but their development history and direction are totally different. However, the contrast between the rapid rise of the scientific theory in Western Renaissance and the lack of modern scientific theory after the brilliant Chinese classical civilization is directly related to the cultural choices determined by national characteristics.
