With the popularization and application of the picture archiving and communication system (PACS), radiology information system (RIS) and network technology in recent years, the routine work and administration mode of traditional radiology departments changed accordingly,1-3 but no great breakthrough has happened in teleradiological conference technology. Since May 2003, we began to connect the digital equipments of subordinate hospital with ours by virtual private network (VPN) mode. Through transmitting the digitalized images of the subordinate hospital to our PACS server and reted the diagnosis to them, we carried out teleradiological conference successfully, which improved teleradiological conference effectively. Teleradiological conference was held for over 1000 cases in the past one year. Interactive teleradiological system (IATRS) has been proved to be practical,reliable, simple, convenient and well interactive, together with less investment required, thus it is likely to be accepted by many other hospitals. IATRS has been one important portion of routine work of radiological department.
