为消除冶炼厂的烟害和达到资源的综合利用,第四冶炼厂于1964年初建成了一个年产液体 SO_2300吨、硫铵500吨的中间试验工场,以回收铅烧结机烟气中的低浓度二氧化硫(含 SO_2 0.4~0.8%)。所采用的方法是氨酸法,其主要工艺过程为:烟气的净化降温,吸收二氧化硫(得亚硫酸盐)、亚硫酸盐的分解(得高浓度 SO_2气体),气体 SO_2的液化。该厂的工业性生产试验结果表明,SO_2的吸收率可达90~93%;吸收母液用浓度为90~93%的硫酸分解,得高浓度的气体二氧化硫,经氨蒸发常压冷冻的液化处
