Objective To investigate the clinical significance of CD3 +, CD4 + T cell subsets expression in peripheral blood of patients with esophageal cancer during the perioperative period and to investigate their prognosis in patients with esophageal cancer. Methods Patients with esophageal cancer were treated with peripheral venous blood 3 days before surgery and 10 after surgery respectively. Flow cytometry was used to quantify CD3 + and CD4 + T cell subsets. Results The levels of CD3 + and CD4 + T cells in patients with esophageal cancer (without distant metastasis) before operation were lower than those before operation (P <0.05). The changes of CD3 + and CD4 + T cell subsets in distant metastasis esophageal cancer patients before and after operation were similar (P> 0.05). Conclusion The monitoring of CD3 + and CD4 + T cell subsets has important reference value in judging the prognosis of patients with esophageal cancer.
