Based on the “History of New Chinese Literature”, this article discusses two issues concerning the writing of literary history. First of all, since Wang Yao’s efforts and the writing of “Shi Xuan” embody a genuine sincerity. Here “Sincerity ” is a pure love and a true academic pursuit. However, he did not have the ability to apply class analysis strictly to the “History Draft.” All this can not help but think about it: how many puzzles Wang Yao made in the process of writing the “History Draft”? From this we can further reflect on the “truthfulness” and “doubts” that we face when writing literary history. Double struggle. “Sincerity ” and “Doubt ” is a double-edged sword, and it is also necessary to face the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature.
