徽州木雕是著名的“徽州三雕”(砖雕、石雕、木雕)之一,既有单个的立体雕件又有多个建筑构件的组合,特别是作为建筑构件在徽州古民居中大量使用。它以浓郁的徽州乡土气息和艺术风格有别于其他流派而享誉海内外。明代初年,徽派木雕已经初具规模,雕刻风格拙朴粗犷,以平面浅浮雕手法为主。自明代中叶以后,随着徽商财力的不断增强,炫耀乡里的意识日渐浓厚,木雕艺术也逐渐向精雕细刻过渡,从而使多层透雕取代平面浅浮雕成为主流。徽州木雕的制作过程主要有两
