The Odyssey of Oji Maki is an autobiographical tramp novel by American Jewish novelist Saul Bellow. In a first-person narrative style, the novel recalls the search for meaningful lifestyles by the narrator and hero Oliver, in the ordinary and accidental daily life, and vividly reflects Ogye’s home dream and spiritual sustenance. However, the home narrative in the novel has not drawn any attention. Based on the perspectives of Goldman’s theory of literary sociology criticism, this article analyzes the home narrative in The Adventures of Oli Maki, and points out that the narrative in the novels and the protagonist’s pursuit of her homeland reflect Bellow as a disintegrated writer Homeland Consciousness and Its Memory of Jewish National Tradition. At the same time, this article also points out that the protagonist’s escape from life-regression-flight to life reveals the isolation of loneliness and soul nowadays and the writer’s desire to evade the social reality. The protagonist’s pursuit of valuable life and its simplicity The thirst for warm home reflects the influence of American transcendentalism on Bellow’s creation.
