The establishment of the Football Association of England in 1863 created the history of modern football, but the origin of football is at the other end of the earth - the ancient East. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the kings of England had ordered a ban on this violence-filled game. But before that, ancient China, Greece, and Rome had already started engaging in similar sports activities. In 1900, football officially became one of the earliest group events of the Olympic Games. At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Olympic football ushered in its centennial birthday. Women’s football was included in the Olympic Games in 1996, when the women’s football finals attracted a record of 76,000 spectators.
