在大多数情况下,进行钾的测定时,是有钠存在的,有的时候还存在锂及镁。当钠存在时,测定钾主要有二个方法:铂氯酸法及过氯酸法。这二个方法需要比较长的时间及必须采用不是经常容易做得的贵重的试剂(H_2PtCl_6及HClO_4)。其他的当钠存在时十分准确地测定钾的方法在现在还没有。有人建议用钴亚硝酸钠方法来测定钾,但该法主要的缺点在於钴亚硝酸钠钾沉淀与其所写的分子式K_2Na[CO(NO_2)_6]·H_2O不是经常有同样的成份。
In most cases, the determination of potassium, sodium is present, and sometimes there are lithium and magnesium. When sodium is present, there are two main ways to determine potassium: the platinum-chlorate method and the perchlorate method. Both of these methods require longer time and expensive reagents (H 2 PtCl 6 and HClO 4) that are not always easy to do. Other methods for determining potassium very accurately when sodium is present have not yet been available. It has been suggested to use potassium nitrite to determine potassium, but the main disadvantage of this method is that cobalt potassium nitrite precipitation is not always the same as the formula K_2Na [CO (NO_2) _6] · H_2O written by it.
