Tao Yuanming was the first idyllic poet in China appearing in the late Jin and Song Dynasties in China, while Wordsworth was the poet of the English Romanticism at the end of the 19th century. Both of them were the peak monuments in their own time and in their respective fields. Political environment are not satisfied, so have chosen back to nature, hug nature. From their idyllic creations, one can see the vastly different cultural systems from east to west, as well as the vast differences between the “no-self” and the “me-there” in their interpretation of nature. We should look at the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western cultures in terms of this “environment without me” and “with me.” We should further understand China’s “harmony between man and nature” “Heaven and Earth phase ” thought concept.
