The Cenozoic alkaline basalts in Wangqing, Jilin Province are rich in ultramafic inclusions and their rock types, mineral compositions, structural structures and genesis are complex and are good sites for studying the enclaves. This paper focuses on the petrological characteristics of the enclaves and discusses the genesis of pyroxene. The issues related to the origin of alkaline basaltic magma and pyroxene magma in the area and the evolution history of the upper mantle will be discussed separately.
