The utilization of foreign investment is an important part of China’s opening to the outside world. In 1993, the area and level of foreign investment utilization in our country during the five years from 1993 to 1997 have been increasing year by year. By July 1997, nearly 300,000 foreign-invested enterprises were approved and the world has the largest foreign investment after the United States . From 1992 to 1996, China approved over 240,000 foreign-invested enterprises, accounting for 85% and 86.6% of the total foreign and foreign capitals in the first 14 years respectively.
